Nevermind by Nirvana is 20 Years Old
The voice of an entire pissed-off generation, Kurt Cobain, died at the young age of 27 - that's some sort of a mystical age, apparently, since quite a few famous, amazingly talented artists died at that age.
"Nevermind" by Nirvana represented the need of many young people of that time - to listen to a different kind of music, to disengage from the all-too-sweet 80s and to find their own voice. That voice was Nirvana, and specifically - Kurt Cobain.
Through the blurry, unclear, hoarse singing in "Nevermind", Cobain managed to communicate the feeling of a whole generation: we don't belong here, we are lonely and misunderstood, we feel pain but we also don't give much of fuck. It all churned down to one, unforgettable quote:
"Well, whatever, nevermind".
Growing up in the 90s really comes down to this - no one cares, so I won't care either. Nirvana was the voice of those who didn't belong, the outcasts, that didn't fit in and needed someone to express their pain.
The pain was so great, apparently, that Kurt Cobain couldn't really take it. So he took a shotgun to his head, and finished off what could have been a glorious, crazy and painful life.
"Nevermind" is now 20 years old. The album was listed at number 17 on Rolling Stone's list "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time", and for many good reasons.
Despite the internet, a plethora of social networks and many other ways to connect to each other, a lot of us still feel very much alone and out of place. "Nevermind" speaks of that pain, and continues to be relevant, expressive and amazingly touching.

A lot of people are talking about nonsense like the end of the world by December 2012, but not enough pay attention to the severe, real problems that are just around the corner.
"If current trends continue, if current patterns of production and consumption of natural resources prevail and cannot be reversed, then governments will preside over unprecedented levels of damage and degradation." -- this is a warning from the United Nations Environment Programme.
"The world continues to speed down an unsustainable path despite over 500
internationally agreed goals and objectives to support the sustainable management of the environment and improve human wellbeing, according to a new and wide-ranging assessment coordinated by the United Nations Environment Programme".
Basically this means we consume too much, destroy too much and soon there will be major food and water problems. Just as an example, a few years ago the World Bank concluded that destructive fishing practices, fueled largely by subsidies, had depleted stocks so much that society was missing out on $50bn per year worth of fish it could otherwise have eaten.
Unless some serious action is taken, globally, to conserve and protect the little we have left of this planet, humanity may start to disappear.

The Rock ons rocked-on with their Zombie theme and gory set up, a usual day at the office, you know.After the insanity that was March, we will be taking a breather to write material, get the website and new merch line up, as well as prepare and promote for our fundraising gig on May 2nd at Rolly's Garage. The all day, all ages event will start with a pre-show at 4 pm with a BBQ outside on the driveway of the venue, with acoustic performances by local musicians and open-mic. It's been a couple of days since you enrolled as an SFI
affiliate, and you're probably wondering, "Who are these guys?" and "Is
this SFI thing the real deal?"Great questions. And you're absolutely right to ask them! After all, you've been invited to involve yourself with a company, and you should definitely know who you're dealing with.
Not only that, but when it comes to finding a legitimate business opportunity on the Internet, it’s a "minefield" out there—heavily populated with questionable, often-illegal money games and here-today-gone-tomorrow schemes. Make a wrong step or choose the wrong company, and you could lose big.

But that's just the beginning of the income opportunities now available to you as an SFI affiliate! In today's LaunchPad, we want to introduce you to one of those opportunities...our FREE Entrepreneur365 (E365) contest.
E365 is a challenge in which you compete with every other SFI affiliate who joined SFI the same day you did. The idea is to outlast them all and, on your 365th day in SFI, be named the champion of your class—an Entrepreneur365 Champion!
As an E365 Champion, you'll receive special corporate recognition, a spot on the E365 "hall of fame" Website, bragging rights, and a handsome plaque for your office wall to commemorate your achievement, and more. The E365 competition is based on VersaPoints and is divided into six rounds.

All of the first five rounds use the same simple rule: Stay above the green line and you advance—and win more prizes (and the prizes get BIGGER each round). For the sixth and final round, to be named Entrepreneur365 Champion, you'll simply need to accumulate the most VP in your class by the end of your 365th day. More on this in later lessons...

1. Work with the workers in your network by reviewing their versa points ledger and make recommendations based on their weekly checkup. Be highly visible in the stream and on the forum.
2. Work with others outside of your network. The good you do will come back to you.
